Dear CKS Families,
Who would have thought that we would have had our first snow day in the middle of November!
So many things have been happening this week. Monday was our annual Veterans Day Prayer Service. The fourth and the seventh grades did such a wonderful job! This event always makes me emotional...perhaps that is why I said valentines instead of veterans at the end of the service. At least it shows that we all make mistakes!
Today we hosted a naturalization ceremony. If you have never been to one, it really is a pivotal ceremony for the candidates who are taking the pledge. There were 29 candidates who are now newly naturalized citizens of the United States of America. In looking at all of their faces, you could tell just how proud they were to become citizens.
Next week will be just as busy with the Thanksgiving Lunch on Tuesday, November 19. Also, remember we have an early release on Thursday, November 21 with dismissal at noon and no school on Friday, November 22 for a teacher in-service.
