French: Mrs. Luisa Knowles

Hello!
My name is Luisa Knowles. I am looking forward to my fourth year as the Middle School French Teacher at Christ the King. I learned my French at school in the United States and I studied in Paris, France. Teaching a foreign language provides me with an opportunity to enable my students to discover the world beyond our borders. Hopefully my students will be empowered to use their French with many of our French Canadian neighbors that come to spend time in Vermont and pursue their French studies in the future.
My students know that I work hard to have a FRENCH ONLY classroom. When FRENCH ONLY is spoken in class students are challenged to express themselves in the target language. French is all around us. I hope this summer you will take a moment to make note of where you have found some French and share it with us when we reconvene in the fall!

FRENCH CLUB
I am happy to announce that we have started a Middle School French Club. Since October, our club has met twice. Our next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, November 18th. Students have decided to focus on French cuisine! I shared a French apple tart and on the 18th Dylan Kennedy and Megan Eaton have offered to make a Vichyssoise Soup accompanied by French Baguettes from Sarah Harvey! Bon Appetit!
